Over
Norton Park has been in the Dawkins family since 1726.
The Park is situated just to the north of Chipping Norton
in the heart of the Cotswolds, an area of outstanding natural
beauty. A historic setting of traditional parkland is home
to a herd of South Devon cattle, a herd of outdoor pigs, and
there is a small flock of Oxford Down sheep as well as wide
variety of wildlife. The rare-breed hens are free to roam
the fields. Our newest enterprise is the Farm Shop located
in the center of the village.
Much
of Over Norton Park is managed under the Countryside Stewardship
Scheme, which ensures that wildlife is encouraged to flourish
alongside the farm animals and crops.
Farm
Shop
The
farm shop has recently opened in Over Norton village. Our
aim is to provide fresh locally produced food of the highest
quality at the keenest prices as well as providing a convenience
goods service for the village. Much of the meat is produced
in Over Norton Park, especially South Devon beef, fresh free
range pork and our popular hot pork pies. Most of the seasonal
vegetables and fruit are from nearby farms and gardens.
Beef
Herd
The
pedigree South Devon cattle are an old English breed, famous
for its flavour and succulence. They are raised in the Park
using traditional methods. The calves are suckled and reared
by their own mothers, until weaning at about 7 months. The
cattle are almost entirely grass-fed, with home-grown corn
and approved supplements in the winter.

Pig
Herd
The
pigs are bred and reared entirely outdoors and have large
paddocks and airy barns in which to live. All ages are free
to behave naturally, root in the soil, wallow and graze.
Eggs
Multi-coloured rainbow eggs from our own free range
hens. Our hens that lay the coloured eggs are Cotswold Legbars,
Leghorns, Marrans plus other ancient breeds roaming free in
the Park
